We love the gorgeous vintage vibe of enamel. It doesn't rust, it's scratch resistant, very light and very durable if you treat it with care. Theoretically it can be put in the dishwasher, but we recommend cleaning by hand because the salts in the dishwasher cause the material to lose its shine over time.

How is enamel made?

Although enamel does not occur naturally, it is made from 100% natural raw materials. The raw materials quartz, feldspar, soda, borax, aluminum oxide and other metal oxides are melted at high temperatures and then further processed into enamel slip. In the next step, this is firmly bonded to a carrier material such as steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless steel by baking. All steps of this manufacturing process are environmentally friendly. Organic substances and solvents are not used - that's why enameled products can be easily recycled.
